The

Beans

We pride ourselves on sourcing the world's most exceptional

and finest cacao beans. Our selection features the rare and

highly priced pure Criollo cacao from Peru, known for its

complex flavour profile, low bitterness and rich heritage. Additionally, we offer the Arriba Nacional cacao from

Ecuador, which is also a Criollo variety celebrated for

its floral aroma, balanced sweetness, and smooth texture.

Historically, Criollo was the cacao of the Mayans

and Aztecs, who revered it as sacred. Today, pure Criollo

makes up a tiny fraction of global cacao production,

making pure chocolate bars made from it a luxury item.

Our cacao grown sustainably among trees and shrubs using the agroforestry management system, which has a significantly lower environmental impact than the fertiliser heavy plantations common in West Africa. We also ensure that our cacao comes from ethical farms that are free from slavery, reflecting our commitment to responsible sourcing.
